Figs, oh lordy, figs.  I painstakingly wait for them every year and when they finally arrive in late summer, glee abounds.  Grilled, wrapped in prosciutto, slathered with tahini or tossed in a tart, I find their brilliance truly pops when pinched open to reveal jammy jeweled goodness, and placed directly in my mouth.
